My Review:

After a freak accident leaves her best friend Dead, Destiny Grable survives. However, fate has intervened and Destiny finds herself reincarnated into her best friend Zoe’s body. Destiny has found a second chance at life, but not at all in a way that she could have ever predicted. One moment she’s driving in a car with her best friend and the next she’s waking up in the hospital with Zoe’s ex-boyfriend Chance taking care of her.  To make matters worse all of her old feelings for Chance are as strong as ever. Fighting between her desire for Chance and her loyalty to Zoe, Destiny is conflicted to say the least.

Zoe’s estranged boyfriend, Chance Everett, has committed himself to bringing Zoe home just long enough for her to get on her feet and then it will be time for both to move on once and for all. Chance and Destiny have been friends pushed together by Zoe, but Destiny couldn’t help but develop more than a little crush on Chance along the way. What Destiny doesn’t know is that Chance harbored a crushof his own. Chance can’t help noticing how much Zoe has changed. Her aloof nature seems to have disappeared into a woman filled with life that hums as she cooks gourmet meals, engages is compelling conversation, even her laugh has changed. Destiny is falling more in love with chance by day. The chemistry between them is inflamed by sharing a bed & the discovery of Zoe & Chance’s treasure trove of spanking implements. The tension; both sexual and the irresistible pull these characters have for one another all while trying to fight it is intoxicating. The sex & erotic spanking scenes are hot, hot, hot! Rooting for them through it all is Destiny’s empathic and clairvoyant sister, Laura, who recognizes Destiny immediately. She also recognizes true love when she sees it and is not going to let Destiny give up her chance at happiness.

The story and characters had a depth that held my interest from page one. I could not help, but feel connected to each one of them, including Destiny’s sister Laura.  In fact I connected so much with Laura that really hoping there will be a sequel in store for us featuring her as the lead character. Her story much be told! The mystical theme was fascinating. I am intrigued by the idea that true love can be so fated that one could be reincarnated into another’s body just to fulfill that destiny.  I really enjoyed how different this story is from author, Cara Bristol’s other work. It’s a nice contrast to the contemporary domestic discipline novels that the author has written in the past.  I, of course, am a big fan of both genres of spanking novels.

Destiny’s Chance is a fantasy at its romantic best. Are these star crossed lovers willing to take a chance and fulfill their destiny? You will have to read the book to find out and I highly recommend it!

Cara Bristol didn’t start out to become a spanking fiction author. It sort of happened…okay, with five spanking titles under her belt, three under contract, maybe it didn’t just happen. The Evolution of Emma Adler by Serafine Laveaux

 

A tale of sexual awakening and comeuppance. This is not your typical spanking novel. The backdrop of Depression Era Texas is rich and full of detail. I felt transported to a time of desperation, a time where so many felt desolate yet longed for more than what life had dealt them. The language absolutely thrilled me because it was spot on for the era. This is a coming of age story about Emma who begins as the target of prejudice common of the era, the victim of slurs against her heritage, and the poverty her family finds themselves in. Doris de Vris likes to pretend to be Emma’s friend. However, everything Doris does comes with an ulterior motive. Emma has resigned to just take it partly believing that she deserves it and partly because to her it’s all worth it for a nickel malt every now and then. An unexpected tryst between the two ensues after discovering Mr. de Vris’ secret stash of photos. Emma’s world has been blown wide open sexually while at the same time she has to overcome Doris turning on her viciously. Her self-discovery continues after an unsavory encounter of dark discipline from Doris’ father. Instead of breaking her spirit Emma finds a personal power within her that had never existed before. She hatches a plan to get revenge on Doris and her father. Her new-found inner voice fuels her on. I enjoyed Emma’s journey through a sweet romance and unlikely friendship that ultimately aides in her perfect revenge.

While this book contains the darker element of discipline I think what makes it so hot is Emma’s developing sense of self and strength that comes out of it. She doesn’t allow herself to be victimized. She takes that power and uses it to empower herself. The discipline is harsh, but hot. The story line is engrossing and exciting. The back story is rich and the characters are incredibly entertaining. In the end this novel goes down as one of my all-time favorites. I would give it five stars in every category. I can’t wait to read The Hickory Switch and find out what happens next.

The Fabric of My Being

Spanking is part of the fabric of my being. Dare I say I am not alone in this? I think that for many of us it’s just an innate part of who we are. Spanking thoughts are always lurking around in the back of our brains just waiting for their moment to come bursting out. These can come forth with any number of triggers; be it a tree branch that looks just perfect for a switch, to spying a wooden spoon or spatula while cooking in the kitchen. How about those moments when you see a couple arguing in the store? The wife practically begging to be taken over her spouse’s knee right then and there. Farm stores aren’t safe anymore (riding crops, leather leads,) hardware stores are out (wow, the plethora of spanking potential!) Once innocent items have now taken on new meaning. I will never look at a mini blind rod the same! Or an arrow from an archery set (thank you Renee Rose!) I can’t make it through a day without fantasizing about being spanked for one reason or another. Life just goes on around me. People are just living their lives, interacting with me, all the while having NO IDEA what is going on inside my brain. I think they would run for their lives if they knew. Thank goodness the majority of my friends and family aren’t mind readers. These thoughts have been a daily part of my life for 5 years & an active part of my life before that. Unfortunately life does not allow for spanking to happen all day long every day. Darn it! Lucky for us there are a plethora of amazing spanking books out there for us to satisfy our daily cravings. I do mean amazing. The spanking genre has boomed over the last few years much to my eternal glee. In fact the choices are becoming more varied and better quality all the time. If that wasn’t all, thanks to the internet we can also satisfy our need to talk about all of that yummy spanking fiction with others that have that same drive nestled into the fabric of their being as well. I decided to share my current top six favorite spanking novels to tide you over until your next satisfying interlude. Now ask me in a month and my favorites will have changed. They don’t call me a spanking romance addict for the heck of it. So here you are:

Spankings on a Page

Remember the days of dial up Internet? The static and beeping as it tried to connect. The celebration when you finally heard it go through. The anticipation of knowledge at your fingertips, of finding a chat room filled with people who had a similar interest. Compelled by this novel idea of connecting with others, even those in other countries, from your own home in *gasp* your pajamas!

I remember those early days of perusing chat rooms and using the AOL search engine looking up terms like “Reiki” and “Channeling” and “Aromatherapy.” I was a young and budding spiritual guru at the spry young age of 18. My Mom and I shared a screen name. We were sage and growing in our joint pursuits of spiritual awareness. It was a lot of fun.

And then one day I was alone in the house. I was typing away looking up health remedies for this or that when suddenly an idea was upon me. “I should look up the word spanking!” Oh, once that idea sparked it ignited! I typed in the word as my heart raced and my breath quickened. You can imagine my surprise when entry upon entry showed up. I didn’t expect much more than a definition and maybe a sentence using the word, similarly to when I had looked it up in the dictionary my parents gave me over and over when I was younger.

I sorted through these results all the while listening intently for the sound of the garage door opening or the door clicking. I sorted through with bated breath the parenting articles, and the porn, when alas what did I stumble upon…My first discovered spanking story. I was captivated. Entire stories dedicated to my secret obsession. This was so much more satisfying that the brief, but delicious scenes that I had stumbled upon reading old fashioned romance novels.

My life changed that day and little did I realize the fundamental change that was occurring inside of me. That subtle shift that would change the course in ways I couldn’t even fathom yet. I was hooked. I quickly realized that the story pages contained no pictures. I could read to my heart’s content with no one the wiser. It was one of the most satisfying moments of my life. This was before Bethany Burke changed the landscape of spanking fiction to the plethora of spanking romance we can find today. So, now that you are acquainted with the moment that I discovered and fell head over heals in love with the spanking genre let me introduce myself.
